NSP Scholarships in West Bengal

West Bengal has a large SC population, a significant Muslim minority community particularly in the border districts, and a well-established higher education system with numerous NSP-registered colleges. Application Process

How to Apply for NSP Scholarships in West Bengal

State-Level Schemes on NSP

West Bengal lists state-level SC/ST and OBC post-matric scholarships on NSP, administered through the Backward Classes Welfare Department and SC/ST Development Department respectively. The amounts cover maintenance and some course fees for students enrolled in government and aided colleges. Separately, the Oasis portal (oasis.gov.in) manages West Bengal's own scholarship ecosystem covering meritorious SC/ST/OBC/minority students — the state portal has its own application process, and students must apply there independently of NSP. Students in West Bengal often qualify for both central and state schemes — confirm with your college scholarship coordinator whether simultaneous claims are permitted for your specific combination.

Tip for West Bengal Students
