NSP Scholarships in Delhi
Delhi is unique on NSP because it has a high density of recognised private colleges and universities whose students can access central schemes. The Delhi government also runs its own scholarship schemes for students of Delhi schools, which are listed on NSP as state schemes. Minority students in Delhi have particularly strong access given the Ministry of Minority Affairs' regional presence in the capital.
NSP Schemes Available in Delhi
The following central government scholarship schemes on NSP are directly relevant for students in Delhi. These are administered by central ministries but verified by the state nodal officer. Click any scheme for full eligibility details and documents.
Delhi also lists additional state-level scholarship schemes on NSP. These are separate from the central schemes above and are managed by the state government. Check the Delhi state government scholarship portal alongside NSP to ensure you do not miss state-specific benefits that you may qualify for independently.
How to Apply for NSP Scholarships in Delhi
State-Level Schemes on NSP
Delhi lists state government scholarships on NSP administered through the Delhi Social Welfare Department and Delhi Minority Commission. These include post-matric SC/OBC scholarships for students enrolled in Delhi government and aided colleges, and merit-cum-means scholarships for minority students. Delhi also has specific schemes for students studying outside Delhi who are permanent Delhi residents โ these are accessible through NSP. The Delhi government's online portal (edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in) handles some additional state welfare schemes not on NSP; students with SC/OBC domicile should check both platforms.
Delhi students should check whether their private college is NSP-registered before applying โ many new institutions or deemed universities are not yet listed. Ask your institution's administrative office for their NSP AISHE code.
