NSP Scholarships in Rajasthan

Rajasthan has large SC and OBC populations and a significant minority Muslim community in districts like Barmer, Jalore, and Nagaur. NSP application volumes are high across the state. Rajasthan also runs the SJE (Social Justice & Empowerment) scholarship scheme on a state portal, and students may be eligible for both state and central scholarships. The state scholarship portal is separate from NSP.

Application Process

How to Apply for NSP Scholarships in Rajasthan

Confirm your eligibility. Check your category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Merit), your income level, and your current course against the scheme criteria. Use the scheme guides linked above to verify eligibility before you spend time gathering documents.

Gather your documents before applying. The most common reason for rejection in Rajasthan is missing or invalid documentation. Get your income certificate, community certificate, bank passbook, and Aadhaar card ready before opening the NSP portal.

Register or log in at scholarships.gov.in. First-time applicants register with their Aadhaar number. Returning students log in to their existing account and apply for renewal. Ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account before registering.

Select the correct scheme and complete the application. Choose the scheme matching your category and level. Fill all fields carefully — name and Aadhaar details must match exactly with government records. Mismatches are the single biggest cause of payment failures.

Submit and track institute verification. After online submission, your institution's NSP nodal officer must verify your application. Follow up with your college's scholarship coordinator regularly — institute verification is mandatory for the application to move forward to the state level.
State Schemes

State-Level Schemes on NSP

Rajasthan lists state SJE (Social Justice & Empowerment) scholarship schemes on NSP for SC, OBC, and EBC students, covering post-matric students from Class 11 to postgraduate level. These state schemes are administered by the Rajasthan Social Justice & Empowerment Department and provide amounts that supplement central scholarships for eligible students. Rajasthan's state portal (sje.rajasthan.gov.in) also has additional schemes not listed on NSP, including the Palanhar Yojana for orphan students and the Anuprati Coaching Scholarship for competitive exam aspirants — students should explore both platforms.

Tip for Rajasthan Students

Rajasthan students should use the Jan Aadhaar card (Rajasthan's resident identity document) alongside standard Aadhaar for state verification — some NSP applications in Rajasthan are cross-verified using Jan Aadhaar data.
