In Neemrana, the most critical classroom didn't exist.
Before MMF, children in our target communities in Neemrana had two early education options: none, or an Anganwadi centre with no structured learning. Government school enrollment begins at age 6. The 3โ5 year window โ the most critical period in brain development โ passed in unstructured days.
MMF is establishing a dedicated preschool โ a clean, bright classroom with learning mats, picture books, a blackboard, and a trained local teacher. We have completed our legal groundwork, identified the community, and are actively raising the funds needed to bring this to life.
Community families in Neemrana are eager and ready. We have done the groundwork. What we need now is the funding to build the classroom, equip it, hire and train a teacher, and open the doors. That's where you come in.
What preschool development actually requires
Running an excellent rural preschool involves more than a classroom. Here's the full picture.
Physical Space
A dedicated, safe classroom โ whether in a rented community space or newly constructed. Proper flooring, ventilation, lighting, and basic sanitation are non-negotiable for child safety and dignity.
Learning Environment
Age-appropriate books, teaching aids, alphabet charts, number boards, puzzles, art materials, and learning mats. A stimulating physical environment is integral to early cognitive development.
Teacher Salary
A trained, committed teacher is the heart of the preschool. Monthly salary funding ensures continuity โ so children are not abandoned mid-year by a teacher who found more stable income elsewhere.
Kitchen & Nutrition
Mid-day meals require a small kitchen area, utensils, and daily raw ingredient costs. Nutrition support is directly linked to attendance โ children who receive meals show significantly higher and more regular attendance.
Health Monitoring
Regular health checks, weight and height tracking, vaccination records, and basic first aid. Early health intervention prevents learning disruptions and flags developmental issues before they become permanent barriers.
Assessment & Reporting
Structured assessment of each child's development allows teachers to adapt their approach and provides donors with credible evidence of impact. Good reporting is what separates a genuine program from a facade.
